This role includes reading work orders and product specifications, adjusting machine settings, monitoring wire quality throughout processing, documenting production activity and downtime, and following all safety, housekeeping, and quality procedures. The operator is expected to work independently, communicate equipment or quality concerns promptly, and support continuous improvement within the department.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nRead work orders and bills of materials to determine product specifications and production requirements.\nSet up, operate, and monitor HRD machinery, including speed, temperature, coating level, wire diameter, and surface quality.\nAdjust machinery as needed, including changing dies, stringing payoff, point welding, grinding material, and measuring wire diameter between draws.\nInspect material during processing using appropriate measuring tools, including tape measure, micrometer, and tensile test machine, to ensure quality standards are maintained.\nCut samples for quality control and obtain all required approvals before releasing or continuing production as applicable.\nPlace material on hold and stop production when nonconforming wire is found; request initiation of internal corrective action when necessary.\nRecord production activity, downtime, quality checks, and other required documentation; complete and submit work orders to the supervisor.\nReport machinery issues, safety concerns, and quality concerns to the supervisor or maintenance in a timely manner.\nUse forklifts, cranes, and hand carts to load, unload, and move material safely to and from machines.\nLabel packages and ensure finished or in-process material is properly identified.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety, housekeeping, and daily inspection requirements.\nRead and follow SDS information to become familiar with chemicals used in the department.\nTrain new operators and assist other operators or production leadership as needed.\nComplete all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessions.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nOther Duties:\n\nWork overtime as required.\nAssist production manager and other operators as necessary\nAbility to communicate – verbal and written.\nAbility to perform basic math functions with accuracy.\nBasic computer skills for data entry purposes\nAbility to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nConstant standing & walking\nFrequent pushing, pulling, & reaching\nMulti-Tasking skills\nPreferred qualifications:\n\nHigh school graduate or equivalent preferred\nForklift experience preferred\n1-2 years in industrial machinery\nPredictable and consistent attendance is required\nBenefits:\n\nHealth insurance\nDental insurance\nVision Insurance\nLife insurance\n401(k)\n401(k) matching\nPaid time off\nEmployee assistance program\nReferral program\nTuition reimbursement\nShift: 8-hour shift\nWork Location: In person, Company does not provide relocation assistance.\nCentral Wire Group of Companies is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
