{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"c3caf5c57a4920c181f28cde","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c3caf5c57a4920c181f28cde","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c3caf5c57a4920c181f28cde","title":"Implementation Engineer","description":"The Implementation Engineer is responsible for the technical execution of customer implementation projects across OTAVA’s cloud, infrastructure, backup, disaster recovery, networking, and security solutions.\nWorking closely with the Manager of Implementation, Solutions Engineering, Technical Services, and Customer Success teams, this role deploys, configures, validates, and documents customer environments while ensuring projects are delivered on time and according to design.\nThe Implementation Engineer serves as a technical resource throughout the implementation lifecycle and provides a smooth transition from project delivery into ongoing operations.\nResponsibilities\nExecute customer implementation projects according to approved Statements of Work.\nInstall, configure, migrate, and validate cloud and infrastructure solutions.\nPerform implementation activities for compute, storage, networking, backup, disaster recovery, and security services.\nParticipate in project kickoffs and technical planning sessions.\nEnsure implementation milestones are completed on schedule.\nTechnical Implementation\nDeploy VMware, virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure solutions.\nConfigure backup and disaster recovery environments.\nPerform customer migrations with minimal disruption.\nExecute system testing and validation before customer acceptance.\nTroubleshoot implementation issues and coordinate resolution with Engineering teams.\nDocumentation\nProduce accurate implementation documentation.\nUpdate implementation runbooks and technical procedures.\nMaintain project records within Jira and related project management tools.\nDocument customer configurations and operational handoffs.\nCustomer Engagement\nProvide technical guidance throughout implementation projects.\nParticipate in customer meetings when required.\nCommunicate project status and technical risks.\nEnsure customer expectations remain aligned with implementation scope.\nCross Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with:\nSolutions Engineering\nTechnical Services\nPlatform Engineering\nCustomer Success\nNetwork Engineering\nSupport successful transition from implementation into operational support.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve deployment processes.\nRecommend automation opportunities.\nAssist with development of implementation standards and best practices.\nParticipate in knowledge sharing across engineering teams.\nExperience\n10+ years implementing enterprise infrastructure solutions.\nExperience with managed services, hosting, or cloud providers.\nHands-on experience implementing customer environments.\nExperience working on customer-facing technical projects.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nVMware vSphere\nVMware Cloud Foundation (preferred)\nWindows Server\nNetworking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Routing)\nStorage technologies\nBackup solutions (Veeam preferred)\nDisaster Recovery\nMicrosoft Azure fundamentals\nActive Directory\nVirtualization\nSecurity best practices\nStrong troubleshooting skills\nExcellent customer communication\nAbility to manage multiple concurrent implementation projects\nStrong documentation skills\nAbility to work independently\nExcellent organizational skills\nAbility to prioritize changing workloads\nTeam-oriented mindset\nStrong analytical thinking\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.\nCertifications\nOne or more relevant industry recognized certifications:\nVMware VCP\nVCF certification\nVeeam VMCE\nMicrosoft Azure Administrator\nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive base salary ($ 115 -125 K) depending on experience and certifications) plus bonus, 401(k) match, health insurance, generous PTO, paid volunteer time off, and working with world-class co-workers who are just as dedicated and as awesome as you are.\nWhat about Otava?\nAt Otava, we are people empowering people to enable growth.
