Direct Counsel is seeking a Land Use Associate Attorney or Counsel to join a highly respected regional law firm.Location: Seattle, WashingtonPosition Type: Associate (3+ years)Practice Area: Land Use / Real Estate / Municipal LawAbout the RoleDirect Counsel is partnering with a well-established Seattle-based firm to identify a land use associate to support a diverse client base on development projects and real estate transactions. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with developers, property owners, and stakeholders on complex land use and permitting matters across local, regional, and national projects.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct land use due diligence and assist clients through permitting and entitlement processesAdvise on development strategy, including site redevelopment and regulatory complianceDraft due diligence memoranda and client advisory materialsResearch and analyze land use regulations and assess their impact on specific propertiesCommunicate with local government officials, planners, and regulatory bodiesDraft covenants, easements, and agreements related to land use and developmentManage multiple matters across different transactions in a fast-paced environmentQualifications3+ years of land use, real estate, or municipal law experienceExperience with Pacific Northwest land use matters strongly preferredStrong legal research, writing, and analytical skillsExcellent time management and organizational abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlinesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaborativelyRequirementsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolActive membership in the Washington State Bar (WSBA)Compensation & BenefitsThis position offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 – $350,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
