{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"c3bf0eeeab0e9e4a2eb088f4","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c3bf0eeeab0e9e4a2eb088f4","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c3bf0eeeab0e9e4a2eb088f4","title":"Continuous Casting System Technician","description":"DescriptionThe Continuous Casting System Technician is responsible for setting up and operating the horizontal continuous caster (CC) according to standard procedures and output requirements.Essential Duties, Responsibilities, & AuthoritiesOperate coreless induction furnaces (melter and caster)Operate the furnace power supply controls – metal temps to 2800°FOperate touch screen controls for CC operationsOperate manual and automatic plasma cut-off operationsOperate horizontal rod straightenerOperate rod finish sawBuild (ram-refractory-powder) liner for furnaces – melter and caster typeUse cement type refractories to build and form side ports in the casterAssemble water cooled casting moldsMonitor water cooling system and casting support systemsMeasure and melt raw materials in melter for small pigging operationOngoing training and technical operations of special alloy CC operationsUndergo special training for emergencies – power loss situationsCasting operation will require continuous monitoring, must be able to work until a process is completedUnderstand and follow all Polymet Quality Management System (QMS) documentsMaintain a clean and safe working environmentPerform other duties as assignedTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
