TeacherFTE: 1.0 FLSA STATUS: Exempt WORK CALENDAR: 186 days new hires/183 days returning teachers Summer School Details: Location: Agua Fria High School Campus Dates: Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 25 Schedule: Monday through Thursday Hours: 7:00 a.m. 2:05 p.m.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:Creates and designs lesson plans, instruction, and assessment aligned to Arizona Academic StandardsCommunicates with parents in a timely mannerPresents accurate informationIs highly qualified to teach the content areaUses content material appropriate to students, content area, and academic standardsUses resource materials, procedures, and models related to the lessonDeals with students in a fair and impartial manner, promoting positive self-image/conceptModels, requires, and promotes a feeling of mutual respect and courtesyCreates an atmosphere conducive to verbal and or nonverbal activityProvides constructive feedback/criticism to studentsFollows a logical sequence of instructionsPlans instruction and activities which address identified objectivesRelates and or integrates materials to other disciplinesOrganizes resources to facilitate the achievement of objectivesProvides focus for the students at the beginning of lessonsObtains responses, assesses learning, and adjusts instruction in order to provide students the best opportunity for academic successProvides opportunities for students to practice concept skillsUtilizes a variety of techniques and methods to provide instruction at higher levels of thinkingCommunicates expectations for appropriate classroom behaviorEnsures that students are supervised at all timesKeeps accurate grade and attendance recordsModels professionalism through speech, dress, and actionsAdheres to Arizona Department of Education and District policies, rules, and regulationsPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:Education / Certificate: The teacher must have a valid Arizona teaching certificate for the position to which the individual is assigned. The teacher must be able to obtain either a Provisional SEI endorsement, a full ESL endorsement, or a full Bilingual endorsement. The teacher must be able to become highly qualified in the core content for the position to which the individual is assigned. Current and valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance CardCommunication Skills: Strong writing, literacy, and communication skills; uses effective communication strategies to interact with a variety of audiences.
