{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"c38cbe4564126faed0a1c858","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c38cbe4564126faed0a1c858","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c38cbe4564126faed0a1c858","title":"Intermediate Semiconductor Process Engineer","description":"Overview Intermediate Semiconductor Process Engineer needed for a 12-month contract to hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Santa Clara, California.\r\nPay Rate: $45 to $53 per hour.\r\nWhat You Will Be Doing Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on process engineering experiments for defect reduction, within safety guidelines; troubleshoot defect problems, perform root cause analysis and resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues.\r\nImplement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation to support the defect study.\r\nDesign the failure analysis (FA) DOE for the key defect critical components to troubleshoot wafer defect issues on key R&D programs and major customer escalations.\r\nPerform the FA, collect and analyze the data within safety guidelines.\r\nCommunicate the FA observation and recommend the solution path in defect troubleshooting.\r\nMeasure wafer defect/film properties, organize data/reports for review in supporting defectivity improvement by SEM/FIB.\r\nPrepare wafers for experimentation, including cleaning, loading wafers, preparing klarf files, and evaluating and recommending performance of the process system.\r\nOperate scanning electron microscope (SEM) for top view or critical dimension and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis/imaging as assigned; identify patterns of interest and optimize image quality and beam interactions.\r\nPrepare samples for Focused Ion Beam (FIB) lamella making using Zeta Marking tool; optimize sample prep procedure and conditions, and identify cutting locations based on pattern instructions.\r\nOperate and monitor performance of equipment to perform sample prep processes under limited supervision.\r\nUnderstand SEM and FIB principles; operate FIB for making TEM lamella as assigned and determine optimized lamella quality and conditions.\r\nPerform SEM/FIB system software alignment, routine maintenance procedures (flash, plasma clean, etc.).\r\nPerform routine shut down procedures and coordinate with service when issues arise.\r\nCoordinate instrument repair and maintenance; coordinate wafer evaluations with engineering.\r\nOrder equipment and supplies; coordinate with vendors and purchasing.\r\nSet up equipment for experiments in collaboration with engineering on wafer evaluations.\r\nReport and communicate wafer defect analysis results and recommend solutions for wafer defect troubleshooting on key R&D programs.\r\nInteract with vendors/suppliers to evaluate/troubleshoot defect metrology tools (SEM, EDX, FIB, wafer scribing).\r\nDevelop and publish best known method procedures including sample prep, SEM conditions, and special sample handling.\r\nGenerate internal documentation for products, presentations, and technical reports.\r\nWhat You Need to Bring to the Table Provide trainings for junior engineers for wafer preparation/analysis on defect metrology tools.\r\nContribute to and manage the Metrology tool (Zeta/SEMVision) operation.\r\nInterface with requestors, understand their detailed requirements, and communicate results.\r\nHelp the lab monitor wafer in process (WIP) and maintain quality, turnaround time, and throughput.\r\nDefine and forecast the defect metrology tool requirements to support N+ defect requirements.\r\nBonus Points — Preferred Qualifications Experience in semiconductor industry (1-2 years).\r\nMinimum two years of college experience or an Associate's Degree.\r\nWhat's In It For You?
