In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role – protecting our national security.We are seeking a Communication Systems Engineer to support the MIT LL team.Why Join Us?Innovative Projects: Enable critically important communications over vast distances by being the team member to innovate and overcome technical challenges as we spearhead new solutions through advanced prototyping.Collaborative Environment: Come join a team of enthusiastic engineers engaged in creating the next generation of cutting-edge laser communication systems technology.Impactful Work: Your contributions will be pivotal in designing and optimizing defense systems that ensure national security and shape the future of space defense and/or defense.Key Responsibilities:Development of baseband communication link and channel models for SATCOM systemsDevelopment of communication system performance analysis models for SATCOM systemsProcessing and analysis of test data captured in hardware testsWork Environment:Location: Predominantly on-siteTravel Requirements: Willing and able to travel (up to 10%, typically CONUS)Working Hours: StandardRequired Qualifications:Active DoD Secret clearanceProficiency in MatlabBachelors Degree6 years applicable experienceUnderstanding of digital modulation techniques and forward error correction coding implementationExperience with signal processing algorithm implementation to support link establishment and closureExperience with creating SATCOM system performance modelsGood oral and communication skillsOutgoing and energetic with the ability to work within a team environmentDesired Qualifications:Familiarity with PythonFamiliarity with modeling hardware impairmentsPossess strong oral and written communications skills, and must be able to present findings/results to internal and external organizationsWilling and able to travel (up to 25%, typically CONUS)MS in EE, CS, or PhysicsBasic Compensation: For MA only, the salary range is approximately $121,100 - $181,600? USD annually. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.Ready to Make a Difference?
