Commercial Real Estate Litigation Paralegal (Litigation & Enforcement)Bergen County, NJ - HybridA National commercial real estate owner and operator seeking a Commercial Real Estate Litigation Paralegal to support lease enforcement, litigation, tenant collections, bankruptcy, and recovery efforts across a portfolio of retail properties.This position will serve as a key liaison between property operations, accounting, outside counsel, and tenants, managing matters from initial default through resolution. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting commercial real estate, landlord-tenant, litigation, collections, bankruptcy, foreclosure, or creditors’ rights matters and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesLease Enforcement & CollectionsPrepare and issue demand letters, default notices, payment agreements, settlement documentation, and related correspondenceCommunicate with tenants, attorneys, and internal stakeholders regarding delinquent accounts and recovery effortsTrack payment arrangements, settlements, and account status updatesAssist with resolving billing disputes and collection-related mattersReview lease provisions and supporting documentation related to tenant defaults and recovery effortsSupport pre-litigation collection efforts and recommend escalation strategies when appropriateLitigation & Bankruptcy SupportDraft, review, and coordinate legal documents including pleadings, motions, complaints, affidavits, claims, and supporting exhibitsPrepare materials for court filings, hearings, and trial supportMonitor litigation deadlines, hearings, court appearances, and case developmentsCoordinate with outside counsel and internal business teams to manage active matters efficientlyAssist with bankruptcy filings, claims, and related recovery effortsSupport post-judgment enforcement and asset recovery activitiesCase & Matter ManagementMaintain organized legal files, databases, and matter tracking systemsConduct asset, business entity, and public records research to support enforcement effortsPrepare legal correspondence, internal reports, and matter status updatesReview legal and case documents and make recommendations for next stepsManage legal mail, court filings, and related administrative processesQualificationsRequired3+ years of experience as a Paralegal, Litigation Paralegal, Legal Collections Specialist, Creditors’ Rights Paralegal, Bankruptcy Paralegal, Foreclosure Paralegal, or similar legal professionalExperience supporting litigation, collections, enforcement, bankruptcy, foreclosure, landlord-tenant, or commercial real estate mattersStrong understanding of court procedures, legal drafting, filings, and document managementExperience coordinating with attorneys, courts, external agencies, and business stakeholdersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active matters and deadlines simultaneouslyProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management systemsPreferredCommercial real estate, retail real estate, landlord-tenant, lease enforcement, or property-related litigation experienceExperience supporting collections, recovery, creditors’ rights, or post-judgment enforcement mattersPrior law firm, REIT, property management, or corporate legal department experienceParalegal certificate, degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related fieldIdeal BackgroundsCommercial Real Estate Litigation ParalegalLitigation Paralegal (Landlord-Tenant, Creditors’ Rights, Bankruptcy, or Foreclosure)Real Estate Paralegal with litigation and enforcement experienceCreditors’ Rights or Collections ParalegalBankruptcy or Foreclosure ParalegalLegal professional supporting lease enforcement and recovery mattersThis is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional who enjoys managing matters from initial default through resolution while working closely with both legal and business stakeholders in a commercial real estate environment.
