Payroll Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Westport, Connecticut. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations for a multi-state employee base, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for advancement within the non-profit sector.
Responsibilities
Process full-cycle payroll operations for over 500 employees across multiple states, including California.
Utilize Dayforce software to ensure accurate payroll management and reporting.
Analyze large data sets using advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
Maintain compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, including multi-state requirements.
Address and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll integration.
Prepare payroll-related documentation and reports as needed.
Support audits and provide necessary payroll data for review.
Implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
Proficiency in multi-state payroll operations, with experience in California being highly preferred.
Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and handling large data sets.
Strong analytical abilities to interpret payroll data and resolve issues.
Familiarity with Dayforce payroll software.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
