Our senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas program. This individual oversees the direct instruction of club content, day-to-day coaching, and student engagement at one or more schools.\nAre you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you.\nDuties\nTravel to different school locations across Hillsboro.\nFacilitate engaging, hands-on after school programs with weekly one-hour sessions at various schools in Hillsboro, Oregon, for a duration of 4-10 weeks (shifts are a minimum of 2 hours).\nAttend on-site, paid training sessions at the center.\nLift and carry up to 25 lbs as needed.\nArrive punctually for all scheduled activities.\nAdhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines.\nPrepare thoroughly for each session by completing the activities in advance, ensuring all materials are ready, and verifying the accuracy of the curriculum.\nLead groups of up to 20 students through the club’s activities and content.\nManage classroom behavior by establishing and enforcing clear rules and procedures.\nMonitor individual student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.\nCreate a positive, safe environment conducive to student growth and learning.\nProvide regular feedback to students and parents on progress and performance.\nEncourage students and parents to enroll in future Code Ninjas programs and address inquiries about our other programs.\nParticipate in periodic training and staff meetings as required.\nReport weekly to management regarding activities, productivity, and overall performance in the clubs.\nQualifications\nMust be at least 18 years old.\nMust have a high school diploma; some college coursework is suggested. A degree or working toward a degree in education or a related field is a plus.\nMust be able to successfully complete a background check and obtain child safety clearances.\nExperience working with school-age children (K-8th) in a classroom or camp environment.\nAbility to maintain professionalism in interactions with students, parents, school staff, and colleagues, including confidentiality and setting a positive example.\nAvailable at least two consistent weekday afternoons between (times range between 1:30 and 5:00 PM), with the ability to commit to the full length of any given program.\nAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs.\nMust have reliable transportation for transporting equipment and conducting programs throughout the Hillsboro area.\nKnowledge of emotional regulation strategies and the ability to apply these techniques to help students with their emotions and behavior, fostering a supportive and positive learning environment.\nStrong communication skills, both oral and written.\nPunctual and dependable, with a proven ability to report to work on time.\nPassion for learning and working with students, particularly in STEM education.\nMaintain a fun, flexible, and outgoing personality.\nExperience with coding, 3D design, and related topics.\nJob Type: Part-time\nPay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour\nExpected hours: 2 – 10 per week\nSchedule:\nAfternoon shift\nAfter school\nMonday to Friday\nApplication Question(s):\nDo you have know how to code?
