The focus will be on systems, software and test engineering functional domains for the Ground Based and Multi-Mission Air Defense product line groups based in Syracuse NY, leading 12-16 systems/software/test engineers in the development of complex systems. Manager will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate engineering processes, technical personnel, and design tools are applied and managed. Staffing responsibilities include the projection and planning of appropriate staffing levels, recruiting and selection of interns, contractors, college hires and experienced professionals. This role oversees a very diverse and highly skilled set of engineers in E&T. The position will be responsible for program execution, driving technical and organizational strategy, instilling and maintaining engineering discipline, and enhancing employee experiences while focusing on functional management excellence. Manager will be > 50% applied doing direct program tasking in some type of leadership and/or technical capacity within the Ground Based and Multi-Mission Air Defense radar product areas. Fosters employee feedback, recognition, and engagement Proactively communicates with all stakeholdersDesired Skills Broad background in systems engineering and with specific experience in Radar Systems Engineering, Software Engineering and/or Radar Integration and Test. Software Development process and methodologies knowledge is desired. Ground Based Radar product experience is preferred.Demonstrated interpersonal, team-building skills, strong work ethic and self-motivation. Strong customer focus with a proven record of outstanding customer satisfaction. Strong oral and written communications skills. Experience with other advanced SE/SW techniques such as Agile and MBSD is a plus, as is experience in several key domains including architecture, analysis, design, trade studies, integration, and test. Ability to work at multiple site locations in the Syracuse/Central New York area including Liverpool, NY and Cazenovia, NY.
