Ensuring that all employees are working in a safe environment and in a safe manner using all safety equipment.\n\nEquipment Reliability: Tracking downtime and quality control issues. Conducting failure mode analysis and determining preventive maintenance procedures. Tracking production/productivity issues.\n\nR&M monthly budgeting, Capital Budget, etc.\n\nPlanning daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual activities and scheduling repair outages.\n\nCompleting daily reports on the CMMS and hard copy.\n\nFiling and organizing quotes, work orders, operating checks, drawings, procedures, etc.\n\nInvestigating, researching, developing, and documenting procedures for equipment maintenance and breakdown repair. Maintain and operate plant security systems, fire protection systems, and emergency generator.\n\nComparing part pricing, researching vendors, and ordering parts. Establishing delivery dates and scheduling, inventory, and maintaining control of adequate supply of spare parts.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\n\nAbove average mathematical skills—addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.\n\nAbility to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic blueprints and schematics.\n\nAbove average understanding of process chemical flows regarding acid, rinse water system, and wastewater treatment system.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic breakdowns.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot and start up drive systems.\n\nAbility to interpret MSDS forms, organize, and coordinate “right‑to‑know” responsibilities.\n\nAbility to understand and troubleshoot pickle line hydraulic system and compressed air system including piping, pumps, cylinders, and control valve sets.\n\nAbility to sketch and design simple piping and electrical changes.\n\nKnowledge of each operation/process available within the facility.\n\nKnowledge of EPA regulations.\n\nKnowledge of concentration test procedures required for raw acid, process acid, drawing lubricant, and coating oil testing.\n\nKnowledge of Emergency Evacuation and Hazardous Material Spill Emergency Contingency Plan.\n\nKnowledge of the drive system interlocks and start‑up/shut‑down procedures.\n\nKnowledge of start‑up/shut‑down for the boiler, wet section, wastewater treatment system, process water well system, and emergency generator system.\n\nKnowledge of emergency and service representative contacts for gas, water, and electric utilities.\n\nKnowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAbility to routinely twist, bend, stoop, and squat.\n\nAbility to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.\n\nAbility to repetitively reach and grasp.\n\nAbility to frequently lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.\n\nEducation and Experience\nAssociate’s degree in a related field. May substitute degree for four to five years of maintenance experience, with some type of leadership training. Formal education may be substituted with experience and training when competency in the position is demonstrated.\n\nWorking Conditions\nThis is a safety sensitive position.
