Students working at Atlas are connected, challenged and coached by experienced Atlas Learning Partners who have been carefully selected by Atlas Leadership to support, sponsor, and shape the next generation of early talent for Atlas and the global automotive industry.\nThe Engineering Co-Op Program opportunity is located at our Franklin, Ohio manufacturing facility.\nThe Engineering Co-Op Program is to provide hands-on learning and practical experience to engineering students enrolled in a cooperative education program at an accredited college or university. By developing engineering capability in design, development, product knowledge, problem solving and technical support, engineering students participating in Atlas’s Engineering Co-Op Program provide invaluable assistance to Atlas’s engineering community while working in one of the following engineering areas during their co-op work term:\nQuality Engineering\nManufacturing Engineering\nEnvironmental, Health and Safety\nMaintenance Operations\nWe are proud of our team, and believe our people are our greatest asset. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.\nESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Promote a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings. Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.\nParticipate in sample builds, teardowns, testing, and inspections.\nParticipate, support and lead assigned projects in continuous improvement which include quality, safety, cost, and productivity improvements.\nAssist in gathering data, analyzing, and drawing engineering conclusions.\nAssist in gathering information on standardization, new technologies, and cost reduction ideas.\nResponsible for test setup, execution, data collection, and reporting.\nOrganize and prioritizes work requests to meet project timing requirements.\nDevelop and implements efficiency, cost, and quality improvement ideas.\nApply knowledge in engineering procedures, tools, and engineering process development.\nConduct problem solving investigations and troubleshooting to assure root cause is identified, counter measures and recurrence prevention are fully implemented.\nSupport and participates in quality and CARE improvement initiatives directly or indirectly.\nAssist plant management by performing administrative functions.\nProvide technical support and analytical analysis for material issues.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Must be a full-time undergraduate student, enrolled in a cooperative education program at an accredited college or university.\nMust be at least a sophomore, and able to complete a minimum of two work rotations.\nMust maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA\nSKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to work independently and in a team based environment.\nComputer skills required include Excel, Word, Power Point\nExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.\nExcellent problem solving and analytical skills.\nProficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word\nProblem solving, project management and communication skills are all necessary. In addition, candidates must have ability to generate accurate and concise technical reports.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT General office environment. Personal protective equipment required when in manufacturing areas.\nMust be able to constantly sit, flex/extend wrist, and/or twist/turn/tilt neck.\nMust be able to occasionally stand, walk, and lift, carry, push/pull up to 10 pounds.\nRepetitive computer and administrative tasks require constant hand activity, including: gripping/grasping, writing and/or typing.\nMust have following sensory functions: color vision, hearing, and speech.\nAbility to work in fast paced environment.\nOTHER The duties of this job may vary slightly across divisions and locations.
