W2About The OpportunityOur client, a global leader in the energy industry, is seeking a highly motivated Network Security DevOps Engineer to join a newly established Network Security DevOps organization. This team is focused on modernizing, automating, and operating enterprise firewall and network security services at a global scale.This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to influence how network security is engineered, deployed, and managed across complex enterprise environments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in collaborative environments and has a strong passion for automation, cloud security, and infrastructure modernization.Key ResponsibilitiesFirewall & Network Security Engineering Design, implement, operate, and maintain enterprise firewall solutions across global data centers, office locations, and edge environments. Support migration initiatives from legacy firewall platforms to modern security architectures. Utilize centralized firewall management and monitoring platforms for configuration, reporting, and operational efficiency. Participate in evaluating and implementing advanced security orchestration and threat analysis technologies. Collaborate with operational technology (OT) and network engineering teams on enterprise security initiatives. Automation & DevOps Build and maintain automation solutions for firewall deployment and policy management. Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation frameworks using: Ansible Terraform Python GitHub REST APIs Jenkins Jinja2 YAML Drive automation-first and Zero-Ops initiatives to improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency. Cloud & Virtual Security Deploy and manage virtual firewall solutions in AWS and Azure environments. Support cloud security initiatives and future SD-WAN transformation projects. Operations & Support Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network security incidents and vulnerabilities. Perform upgrades, patching, maintenance, and operational support activities. Participate in a rotating global on-call support model. Analyze logs and security events to identify and resolve network and security issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with cybersecurity, cloud, networking, application, and infrastructure teams. Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures. Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and supportable technical solutions. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in network security engineering and/or network security operations. Strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms, including: Fortinet FortiGate Cisco ASA Cisco Firepower (FTD/FMC) Juniper SRX Solid understanding of: TCP/IP OSI Model Routing & Switching Access Control Lists (ACLs) Experience with: Firewalls VPNs IDS/IPS NAT DNS Authentication technologies Preferred Skills Automation and DevOps expertise with: Ansible Terraform Python GitHub Jenkins REST APIs Jinja2 Cloud security experience in AWS and Azure. Advanced routing and switching troubleshooting, including: VRF VXLAN Experience with network security management and monitoring tools. Familiarity with Agile and SAFe delivery methodologies.
