{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"c2d86d0c01e88ef8b3aba9a1","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c2d86d0c01e88ef8b3aba9a1","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c2d86d0c01e88ef8b3aba9a1","title":"Process Technician - 3rd or 5th Shift","description":"Position Summary: Setting up, monitoring, and optimizing the injection molding process to ensure the production of high-quality plastic products while maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime.\n\nShift: Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. *Includes $1.50 an hour shift differential, OR Friday through Sunday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. *Includes 16.5% shift differential\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nMachine Set Up: Prepare and set up plastic injection molding machines with the appropriate molds, materials, and tooling, following established procedures and production schedules.\nProcess Optimization: Continuously monitor and adjust machine parameters, including temperature, pressure, and cycle times, to achieve optimal product quality and production efficiency.\nTroubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, process inconsistencies, and quality issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production flow.\nMold Maintenance: Collaborate with toolroom team to inspect, clean, and maintain molds, ensuring their proper functioning and extending their lifespan.\nMaterial Handling: Assist in the handling, preparation of materials, ensuring proper material selection, drying, and storage for consistent production.\nQuality Control: Perform regular quality checks on molded products, identifying defects or deviations from specifications, and making necessary adjustments to meet quality standards.\nProcess Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of process settings, adjustments, and production metrics, following company protocols and guidelines.\nTraining: Provide training and support to Set Up Technicians, ensuring they understand the injection molding process and can handle routine adjustments and basic troubleshooting.\nContinuous Improvement: Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing changes to enhance efficiency, quality and safety.\nSafety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\n\nProven experience as an Injection Molding Process Technician or similar role, with a comprehensive understanding of injection molding processes and equipment.\nStrong technical knowledge of injection molding machines, processing parameters, and material characteristics. Familiarity with various molding techniques.\nAbility to analyze process data, identify trends, and implement adjustments to optimize production.\nProficient in troubleshooting machine and process issues, with a proactive approach to prevent potential problems.\nAttentive to details and committed to maintaining precision and consistency in the production process.\nExcellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members, engineers and superiors.\nWillingness to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and occasional overtime to meet production demands.\nExcellent time management, follow-through, and reliable transportation.\nAlignment with AMT Core Values.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nAbility to move around the production area easily. Involves walking, standing, bending and reaching for extended periods of time.\nOperation of injection molding presses, auxiliary equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes.\nLifting moderately heavy objects such as molds, equipment and materials using safe lifting techniques.\nGood hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle small components, set up molds and adjust machine setting accurately.\nMay perform inspection of molds, machine components, and products for defects.\nBeing attentive to machine sounds and alarms to detect unusual noises or malfunctions during the setup process.\nInjection molding machines can generate heat and noise during operation.
