This position is not eligible for benefits. What You'll DoProvide nursing care for the health needs of students participating in summer programsAdminister medications and perform nursing procedures with RN supervision and according to DPS Medication Administration ProtocolRespond to medical emergencies in a timely mannerParticipate in the identification process of children with health needs Follow the healthcare plan (IHP) created by the RNMaintain student records and submits data for annual and monthly reportsConducts and coordinates mandated vision and hearing screenings for students participating in the summer programsEnsures compliance with related laws and policies, such as reporting suspected child abuse, immunizations, and Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) lawsMonitor and report infectious diseasePerform other duties as assigned. What You’ll NeedHigh School Diploma / GED RequiredCurrent License to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Colorado is requiredBLS CPR Certification is requiredThree (3) years clinical nursing experience and/or previous school nurse experience is preferredPreferred Bilingual skills in Spanish a plusProficiency with Google SuiteEffective time management and organizational skillsAbility to accurately record, transfer, and present information in an organized mannerEffective verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailWorks collaboratively with others on a teamAptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment with the ability to remain calm in an emergency situationKnowledge of District, county, and state health regulationsAbility to meet District standards for physical and mental healthDemonstrates respect for children, teenagers, and adults with different systems and beliefs is preferredLead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
