This role is a mid-level position with responsibility for leading projects technically while working closely with cross-functional internal teams and customer stakeholders.\n\nThis is a hybrid position based in Tampa, FL, combining remote work with on-site customer engagements. The System Engineer will play a key role in post-sales implementation, optimization, and ongoing support. Functions)\n\nTechnical Leadership & Project Execution\nLead the technical execution of customer-facing projects from initiation through completion, ensuring successful delivery of automated automated system architectures aligned with customer requirements.\nTroubleshoot complex infrastructure, automation, and virtualization issues across customer environments.\nEnsure solutions meet performance, reliability, and security expectations.\n\nCustomer Engagement & Solution Delivery\nAct as a primary technical point of contact for customers during post-sales implementation and delivery phases.\nAdvocate for customer needs internally to ensure alignment between delivery, product, and engineering teams.\nLead technical discussions with customer engineering and operations teams, including architecture reviews and implementation planning.\nGather, analyze, and document customer business and technical requirements.\nTranslate business needs into clear technical designs and automation workflows.\n\nAutomation & Platform Support\nSupport and optimize core automation platform across diverse customer environments.\nDevelop, enhance, and maintain automation workflows using automation frameworks.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce manual processes through automation and workflow optimization.\nContribute to continuous improvement of automation standards, templates, and best practices.\n\nInfrastructure, Virtualization & Identity Management\nAdminister and troubleshoot Linux and Windows Server Environments\nDesign, deploy, and support virtualization platforms, including VMware VSphere, KYM, Docker, LXC and Harvester/Rancher.\nManage and integrate identity and access management systems, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services.\nEnsure infrastructure and system configurations align with customer security and compliance requirements.\n\nDocumentation & Knowledge Management\nProduce and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation, including system architectures, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.\nContribute to internal knowledge bases and best practice repositories to improve delivery consistency.\nDocument automation workflows, configuration standards, and troubleshooting procedures.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nCollaborate closely with Product Management to provide feedback from customer deployments and identify enhancement opportunities.\nWork with internal engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical issues.\nParticipate in internal design reviews and technical planning sessions.\nFluency in English (written and spoken)\nMust have active Secret or higher Security clearance\n\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, system engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience required.\nAdvanced degree in computer science, engineering, or related field preferred\nRelevant industry certifications preferred such as:\no VMware (VPC or equivalent)\no Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Administration\no Red hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)\no Automation or DevOps-related certifications\n\nRequired Skills, Experience & Abilities\n\nTechnical Skills\nStrong administration and troubleshooting experience with Linux and Windows Server operating systems.\nExperience with virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere, KVM, Docker, LXC and Harvester/Rancher.\nProficiency in Python and PowerShell scripting for automation, system integration, and operational tooling.\nExperience designing, deploying, and supporting automated infrastructure solutions in enterprise environments.\n\nProfessional Capabilities\nExperience leading technical discussions with customers and engineering teams.\nAbility to translate business requirements into technical architecture and automation solutions.\nDemonstrated experience managing complex technical projects through delivery.\nStrong technical documentation skills including architecture diagrams, runbooks and implementation guides.\nAbility to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and system integration issues.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting defense or government-related environments.\nFamiliarity with defense system compliance frameworks and security standards.\nExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.\nExperience supporting automation platforms or workflow
