Our platform reaches tens of millions of Americans and is built on the belief that better health starts with better conversations.\n\nJob Summary:\nThe Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of our network to safeguard against cyber threats and unauthorized access. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network security principles, protocols, and technologies, along with hands-on experience in firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security incident response. This role reports directly to the Director of Infrastructure.\n\nLocation: Fully remote\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nDesign, implement, and maintain network security solutions to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.\nConfigure and manage firewall devices, including rule creation, access control, and VPN tunnel configuration.\nMaintains core switches, firewalls (Palo Alto), and functional networks.\nAdministers, and maintains our hybrid networks between on premises and AWS Cloud Availability Zones.\nAdminister all security updates, and carefully document network changes.\nInterpret existing configurations and understand how the systems fits into the overall network design.\nDeploy and monitor intrusion detection/prevention systems to detect / protect against malicious activities.\nConduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate security weaknesses.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines.\nProvide incident response, analysis support, containment, and recovery effort during Security Incidents.\nStay up to date on emerging threats and preventative steps to ensure our highest-level Security Posture.\nOther duties as assigned by Management.\nEducation Required:\n\nBA/BS degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent combination of education, and experience.\nKnowledge & Experience:\n\nKnowledge of current networking protocols and standards.\nHands-on experience in troubleshooting connectivity issues.\nExtensive knowledge of Cisco and Palo Alto networks.\nWorking knowledge of AWS networking standards.\nExtensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft networks.\nPersonal Attributes\n\nExcellent critical thinking, logic, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent planning and organization skills.\nDemonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.\nExcellent written, oral and presentation communication skills.\nAbility to make decisions and negotiate.\nExceptionally self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.\nEasily adjusts to changes in a fast-paced environment.\nAdept stress tolerance and conflict management.\nAbility to work independently with minimal guidance in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong work ethic with good time management and the ability to work with diverse teams.\nWhy mPulse? •\n\nRemote-First & Flexible PTO — work from wherever you're most productive\n100% Company-Paid Employee Coverage - Medical, dental, and vision plans with a 100% company-paid employee-only option, plus company contributions toward dependent coverage and company-paid life and disability insurance.\n401(k) + 4% Match — with financial advisors to help you plan\n6 Weeks Parental Leave\nInvest in You — 30-60-90 day plans and frequent training\nCulture of Recognition — peer-to-peer bonuses & team celebrations\nEqual Opportunity: mPulse is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
