The position works as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team and assists senior engineers with systems engineering activities across cloud, infrastructure, application, cybersecurity, and enterprise technology environments. The ideal candidate is a motivated systems engineer who can translate technical requirements into practical solutions, troubleshoot complex technical issues, document engineering activities, and work effectively with government stakeholders, architects, developers, cybersecurity professionals, and operations teams.\n\nJob Duties & Responsibilities - Essential Job Functions may include, but are not limited to, the following\n\nSupport the engineering, integration, implementation, and sustainment of FAA systems and enterprise technology platforms.\nAssist with developing system architectures, technical designs, engineering documentation, diagrams, and implementation plans.\nAnalyze system requirements and assist in translating mission and business needs into technical requirements.\nSupport requirements management, traceability, configuration management, and technical baseline development.\nAssist senior engineers with the evaluation and integration of hardware, software, network, cloud, and security technologies.\nParticipate in system integration, testing, validation, verification, and troubleshooting activities.\nInvestigate system performance, availability, connectivity, and configuration issues and assist with root-cause analysis.\nSupport the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical procedures, runbooks, and system documentation.\nAssist with system monitoring, incident resolution, problem management, and operational support activities.\nWork with engineering and operations teams to identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and increased system reliability.\nSupport cloud-based infrastructure and enterprise services, including AWS or other approved FAA cloud environments.\nAssist with infrastructure-as-code, automation, DevOps, and continuous integration/continuous delivery activities where applicable.\nSupport cybersecurity engineering activities, including security configuration, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and compliance activities.\nAssist with implementing and maintaining security controls in accordance with FAA, federal, and organizational security requirements.\nSupport technical assessments and participate in security, architecture, and engineering reviews.\nAssist with analyzing system logs, monitoring data, configuration information, and other technical information to identify potential issues.\nParticipate in technical meetings with FAA stakeholders, program managers, system owners, developers, cybersecurity personnel, and infrastructure teams.\nPrepare technical presentations, status reports, engineering assessments, and briefings for technical and non-technical audiences.\nMaintain accurate engineering documentation and configuration records.\nFollow FAA engineering processes, standards, policies, and applicable federal requirements.\nProvide technical support to senior systems engineers and participate in cross-functional engineering initiatives.\n\nQualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.\n2+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, network engineering, or a related technical field.\nExperience analyzing technical requirements and developing engineering solutions.\nExperience troubleshooting hardware, software, network, cloud, or enterprise systems.\nUnderstanding systems engineering concepts and the system development lifecycle.\nAbility to create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, procedures, and reports.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.\nAbility to obtain and maintain the appropriate FAA/government security clearance or suitability determination, as required.\n\nWork Requirements:\n\nWork location: Remote\nWork Hours: 40\nTravel: 20%\nExtended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.\n\nLifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations.\n\nDexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.\nSitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.\nBackground check: Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.\n\nAbout LS Technologies\nAt LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, we're enhancing our nation’s critical infrastructure by providing engineering, technical, and professional services to Federal Government agencies.
