Baker is a division of Waséyabek Development Company, LLC that is wholly owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, a Federally recognized Indian Tribe.\n\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nThe Design Engineer is responsible for the development of parts, assemblies and detailed drawings using CAD design software as well as supporting the design work through the manufacturing, building, and testing phases.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nPerform CAD Design to customer specifications utilizing PTC Creo software (multiple modules)\nConduct Finite Element Analysis\nDevelopment of parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings\nConduct engineering analysis of components and dynamic systems\nSupport part and engine testing\nWrite proposals and reports\nOther duties as requested by management\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering\nDesign/CAD software experience\nMechanically inclined\nKnowledge of hand tools\nCritical thinking skills\nStrong attention to detail\nProficient in Microsoft office suites including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe\nMust be able to support the Baker culture with a focus on teamwork and a commitment to service\nTime management and organizational skills\nUser level knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standard for geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing\nAbility to communicate and collaborate with team members\nGood oral and written communications skills\nProven ability to handle confidential information with discretion\nAbility to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by BE.\nUS Citizen/ ITAR compliant\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nEngine test laboratory experience (instrumentation, set-up, and operation) preferred\nProficient using PTC Creo software as evidenced by at least 5,000 hours of professional experience\nExperience with design for manufacturing\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nLift up to 50lb rarely\nStand/walk up to 8 hours per day\nBend occasionally\nReach/work above shoulders occasionally\nTwist rarely\nFine manipulations frequently to occasionally\nGross manipulation frequently to occasionally\nPush/pull frequently to occasionally\nSit a desk workstation for up to 8 hours per day\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nOffice environment\nClimate controlled shop\n\nTRAVEL\nThis position may require travel up to 5% of the time\n\nPOSITION TYPE\nThis is a full-time, exempt position\n\nRELOCATION\nRelocation expenses are not provided\n\nHIRING PREFERENCE\nNative American & Veteran Hiring Preferences will be applied in accordance with Waséyabek Development Company policy.
