In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development and execution of safety strategies across GPC and Kent Grain, ensuring our teams work in environments that are not only compliant but truly safe and healthy. You’ll be the driving force behind initiatives that prevent workplace incidents, reduce health risks, and promote continuous improvement in safety performance.\nThis role is designed and intended to be performed in Washington, IN.\nPRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nManage and enhance site safety programs through audits, training, and compliance reviews.\nPartner with plant leadership to implement new safety initiatives and ensure effective annual safety training and onboarding.\nOversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.\nOversee safety teams and emergency response efforts, including safety drill coordination.\nMaintain OSHA logs and prepare monthly reports for leadership.\nCollaborate with HR, Risk Services, and insurance providers on injury resolution, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work cases.\nMonitor contractor safety compliance and training.\nOversee service contracts related to plant safety (security staff, medical professionals, safety equipment, etc.).\nProvide regular safety performance updates to leadership, support audits, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.\nPerform other duties as assigned\nEDUCATION,EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in related discipline (Business, Operations, Safety Management or related field)\nMinimum of 5+ years in Safety Management experience\nProficient use of Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint\nOutstanding attention to detail and observation ability\nDeep understanding of legal, health and safety guidelines\nAbility in producing reports and developing relevant policies\nSelf-starter with drive and initiative to meet goals and objectives\nAbility to investigate impartially and make corrective action recommendations\nTact and diplomacy in handling education of employees and management on safety issues\nTRAVEL:\n10-15%\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
