Join us at Leatherman Tool Group and contribute to our mission of creating innovative tools that empower people to take on the expected and unexpected, resulting in real tales of triumph.\nPosition Summary\nWorks with other Die Makers and Die Maintenance personnel while fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision metal stamping tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. Works under minimal supervision while performing daily work. Supports the Tool & Die CI team with business objectives and goals related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth (SQDC&G).\nEssential Functions\nBuild new dies as needed.\nMaintain and repair progressive, fineblank, coining, and all other metal stamping tooling used in production.\nAbility to work both on the bench and in the press.\nUnderstand production measurements as they relate to part prints.\nAdjust production tooling, as needed, to keep things running smoothly.\nDocument and submit all tooling changes that are made.\nMaintain and recommend spare component inventory levels.\nCertification in handling equipment used in the department, such as cranes, forklifts, and die carts.\nParticipate in Die Design reviews.\nInspection, measurement, and verification of components produced by the Machine Shop.\nInspection, measurement, and verification of stamped parts.\nOperate one type of press and related auxiliary press equipment while troubleshooting or trying out tooling.\nAdhere to safety guidelines and maintain clean and organized work areas.\nAdditional Functions\nPerform other duties as required.\nAccess models and drawings in the CAD system for dimension and assembly reference.\nWilling to work overtime as needed.\nEducation and Experience\nDie Maker Journeyman status preferred.\nDie Build, maintenance and repair of either progressive, fineblank, and/or coining tooling required. Typically between 0 – 5 years.\nProven operation of manual machine shop and precision measurement equipment required.\nKnowledge of GD&T required.\nExcellent skills in interpersonal relationships, communication, and teamwork.\nPossess strong written and oral communication skills.\nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit; use hands to handle, grasp, or keyboard; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee occasionally stands or walks; climbs; stoops or crouches; and pushes/pulls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.\nThe employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs. The employee frequently pushes/pulls an average of 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.\nWorking Conditions/Physical Hazards\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment, and occasionally exposed to production environment. Work area is well lit and air conditioned.
