We are proud of our heritage and would like to find an individual who will excel and prosper in a fast paced retail environment becoming a valued member of our team.\n\nDuties\n\nAlthough not an all-inclusive list, the following are some of the duties and expectations that we have for this position:\nSell flooring and floor care products\nGreet customers on the sales floor, and determine their wants and needs\nKeep up-to-date on the wide selection of floors we have to offer along with the benefits and warranties provided by each\nProvide outstanding customer service\nWrite sales orders\nHelp work through, and follow-up after the completion of each job\nBuild client relationships\nNetwork regularly, and work effectively, with other store employees\nExecute targeted sales strategies\nReceive payment, or obtain credit authorization\nUse computer database to research the availability of merchandise\nFollow up in a timely and professional manner with all customers on requests and/or concerns\nAssist customers with flooring choices - explaining features and benefits of various types of flooring as well as decorating and design advice\nMaintain showroom by keeping samples and displays neat, current, and clean\nProspect for new business\n\nRequirements\n\nThe ideal candidate must be:\n\nWilling to undergo our extensive product and sales training in order to become certified flooring and design expert.\nA self-starter.\nPersonally well-organized.\nWilling to create new business.\nAble to provide outstanding customer service.\nAble to provide exceptional follow-up.\nOutstanding verbal and written communication skills\nA history of demonstrated success in retail sales and/or customer service\n\nSome additional qualifications include:\nA passion for, or experience with, decorating or design\nSome college is preferred, but not necessary\nMust have access to reliable transportation in order to get to work, and to visit customers' home (as necessary)\nOpen and flexible work availability, including weekends\nStrong knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Office programs and a willingness to learn our operating systems\nRetail sales experience strongly preferred\nStrong mathematical skills\n\nNice To Haves\n\nKnowledge of floor coverings and the flooring industry is helpful\n\nBenefits\n\nHow to Apply\n\nPlease provide the following:\n\nAn up-to-date resume and brief cover letter outlining your experience for the position\nSalary history and/or requirements\n\nCandidates who meet our selection criteria will be contacted by e-mail or phone for the next step in our hiring process, and in certain instances may be asked to take an online assessment.\n\nThank you for your interest in our position.
