{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"c168a2bf64adf7688e1fce12","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c168a2bf64adf7688e1fce12","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c168a2bf64adf7688e1fce12","title":"Coating Technician","description":"POSITION: Coating Technician - 1st & 2nd Shift\nLOCATION: Jupiter FL.\nSTATUS: Contract to Hire\nJOB SUMMARY\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:\nVisually inspects serial numbers and part condition to verify if parts are acceptable.\nInterpret findings from inspection documentation activities and react according to established procedures.\nTracks and manages tooling and consumable inventories.\nPerforms liquid and tape masking on components using various tools and equipment according to WI/Drawings to maintain coating allowances.\nPerforms manual and robotic pre-process grit blasting for thermal spray on components according specification and interpret results.\nUtilizes precision measuring equipment as required to check work and record in electronic database.\nIn process inspection of own work and work of others before part movement to next operation.\nOperate controls on atmospheric and vacuum furnaces under direct supervision, load and unload own work.\nKnowledge of loading configurations and AMS2750 requirements for furnaces and locations of job aides.\nAssists operators in setting up their equipment and maintenance of tooling.\nOperates small cranes and fork-lifts to move equipment, parts and material.\nData entry/confirmation of the required quality documentation.\nReporting and monitoring of abnormal production time per production step.\nCarrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment and tools.\nFollowing Environmental Health and Safety regulations while working in fast pace environment.\nContinually improving operations and the working environment through 5s methodology.\nPerforming waste handling in accordance to EHS procedures & legal requirements, such as:\nSegregating waste generated\nPlacing hazardous and non-hazardous waste in appropriate containers\nMaintaining waste containers closed and in good condition\nLabeling waste containers with appropriate hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste labels\nMarking the start accumulation date to hazardous waste label once the container in the satellite accumulation area becomes full.\nArranging internal waste transfer to central accumulation area\nContain and clean up area incidental spills\nIndependently carry out assigned technician work and independently correct non-conforming hardware during the reconditioning process where applicable.\nMinimal experience in thermal spray booth operations under direct supervision\nTraining of all entry level technicians for coating prep, braze and heat treatment.\nSet-up and installation of brazing equipment according to process requirements\nExecution of brazing requirements on gas turbine components as per the required technical specification for joining and putty braze.\nExperience with grinding and blasting of components for braze preparation according specification.\nAdvise and / or participate in the design and fabrication of brazing tools and fixtures as required.\nReporting of technical deviations to Cell Lead/Supervisor.\nKeeping the working environment and machines in a clean and proper condition\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nEducation & Training\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.\nComplete Specific on-the-job training towards meeting essential duties and work area performance criteria.\nMust complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix, which includes:\nInitial and annual Hazardous Waste Management training.\n\nSkills/Experience\n2+ years of experience manufacturing experience with specific skills in at least one of the following disciplines: grinding, blending coatings, coatings application, coatings removal (strip line), blasting, heat treat, machining or welding or similar skillset.\n2+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions\n2+ years of experience in a production or maintenance environment\nComprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes\nBasic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, time keeping applications and folder structures.\n\nPhysical requirements\nStooping/Crouching. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.\nKneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.\nCrawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.\nReaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.\nStanding. Particularly for sustained periods of time\nWalking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work area to another.\nPushing & Pulling\nLifting up to 50 lbs. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.\nGrasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.\nRepetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.\nThe worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.\nThe worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.\nThe worker is subject to hazards.
