The DBA Manager will be responsible for overseeing database infrastructure strategy, managing a team of DBAs, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our database systems supporting our growing customer base.\nKey Responsibilities:\nTeam Leadership & Management:\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of database administrators, fostering technical growth and career development.\nEstablish team goals, conduct performance reviews, and manage workload distribution across the DBA team.\nBuild and maintain a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.\nRecruit, onboard, and retain top database talent to support organizational growth.\nDefine on-call rotation schedules and ensure adequate 24/7 coverage for production systems.\nStrategic Planning & Architecture:\nDevelop and execute the database infrastructure strategy aligned with business objectives and growth projections.\nLead the design and implementation of enterprise-level database solutions to meet current and future business requirements.\nEvaluate emerging database technologies, cloud platforms, and tools to drive innovation and efficiency.\nPartner with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure cohesive technical solutions.\nDefine and maintain database standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.\nDatabase Operations & Governance:\nOversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Oracle, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL databases across physical, virtualized, and cloud environments.\nEnsure high availability, performance, and reliability of all database systems through proactive monitoring and optimization.\nEstablish and enforce database governance policies, including change management, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.\nMonitor team delivery of DBA services to application development, professional services, and support teams.\nDrive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.\nSecurity, Compliance & Risk Management:\nEnsure implementation and enforcement of database security policies and technical controls.\nMaintain compliance with SOC2/ISO27001 standards and coordinate with audit teams during assessments.\nOversee access management, encryption standards, and vulnerability remediation processes.\nIdentify and mitigate database-related risks across the enterprise.\nBackup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:\nOwn the enterprise disaster recovery strategy for all database systems, ensuring documentation is current and comprehensive.\nOversee the design, implementation, and testing of backup/recovery methodologies, including RMAN for Oracle environments.\nEnsure regular validation and testing of DR procedures across all supported platforms.\nMaintain RPO/RTO targets and continuously improve recovery capabilities.\nPerformance & Technical Excellence:\nProvide technical leadership on complex database performance issues and architectural challenges.\nGuide the team in query optimization, indexing strategies, and database tuning best practices.\nStay current with industry trends, certifications, and emerging database technologies.\nServe as escalation point for critical production issues requiring advanced expertise.\nVendor & Stakeholder Management:\nManage relationships with database software vendors and cloud service providers.\nCollaborate with executive leadership on database infrastructure investments and initiatives.\nCommunicate technical concepts and project status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nQualifications\nRequired:\n3+ years of people management experience.\n12+ years of progressive experience in database administration, with 10+ years focused on Oracle 19c+ administration.\n3+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Server 2012+ and PostgreSQL.\nExpert-level knowledge of PL/SQL coding, debugging, and query optimization.\nDeep expertise in database performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting tools.\nStrong background in Linux system administration and bash scripting.\nProven experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure SQL, and PowerShell scripting.\nDemonstrated success in designing and implementing high-availability solutions (clustering, replication, failover strategies).\nExperience with infrastructure design, security best practices, and regulatory compliance (SOC2/ISO27001).\nFamiliarity with enterprise monitoring tools such as DataDog, Solarwinds, site24/7, or\nThe salary range in United States of America for this position is 139,000.00 to 174,000.00 USD Annual.\n\nFor sales roles, this range includes the commission target.
