They set up the assembly kits that enable our technicians to assemble Electron rockets, manage inventory, handle shipping and receiving, manage procurement, and inspect and ensure that all materials meet compliance and quality standards.Material Planner IBased onsite at Rocket Labs global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Material Planner I manages MRP and planning for every part that Rocket Lab makes or buys. They coordinate with engineering, quality, production, supply chain, and finance to plan and manage production schedules, supplier lead times, inventory levels, and engineering build timelines.What You'll Get to DoDemand, supply, and fulfillment planning within MRPMaintain bill of materials, parts, and master data within ERPRelease purchase planning messages to procurement on timeRelease work orders to production on scheduleUpdate demand to accommodate engineering change orders and communicate changes to procurementCreate visibility of material position (material balance reports, shortage reports, clear-to-build reports, etc.)Work in a cross-functional team environment and demonstrate strong teamwork and collaborationPerform other duties as assigned by managerQualificationsProven ability to produce material balance and conduct clear-to-build reviewsKnowledge of material planning fundamentals: master data management, order policy, BOM management, planning release, and fulfillmentProficiency in MRP systemsProficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, math, and statisticsPreferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace, EV automotive, or other disruptive manufacturing industriesExperience in a rapid-growth environmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience with AS9100 and U.S. export controlsStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectivelyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTeam oriented, strong ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAdditional RequirementsMust possess normal vision with depth perception for accurate measurement tasksMust regularly sit, use hands and fingers, operate a computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writingMust be physically able to commute to the headquartersMust tolerate occasional dust, fumes, and moderate noise levelsBase Pay Range (CA Only)$58,000 – $73,000 USDBenefitsBase salary is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
