It is his/her responsibility to initiate any action required to achieve the above objectives and insure that all project activities are consistent with company policy. Reports to the Project Manager.\nDuties\nThe Project Engineer’s duties will vary, as required, to support the Project Superintendent and other personnel assigned to the project. His/her first responsibility is to insure the effectiveness of the Superintendent and his staff. Generally, the Project Engineer’s role will concentrate more on long-term planning, scheduling, the identification of future “roadblocks” and “pitfalls”, and the solving of these problems prior to their impact on the project. The Project Engineer is to insure that all logistical support is completed in a timely fashion so the Superintendent can concentrate on the daily and weekly direction of the company’s forces and coordination of subcontractors.\nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering.\nJob Responsibilities:\nSupervise and effectively manage staff workload.\nResponsible for interviewing, recruiting, discipline, and/or termination of project personal.\nDocument control.\nEnsure daily reports are being entered daily.\nPrepare Department and Administration monthly reports.\nReview and approve payroll.\nReview and approve project expenditures.\nWork with Purchasing in setting up/executing trade buyout ensuring scope coverage.\nInitiate and process purchase orders as needed. Direct and oversee construction projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with safety and building regulations.\nMaintain and manage all purchase and delivery schedules, shop drawings, change order process, document control logs, Owner, Architect and Subcontractor correspondence.\nAdminister financial aspects of the Owner’s contract, subcontracts and purchase order.\nManage subcontractor closeout.\nEnsure conformance with company A/P procedures.\nCreate and maintain schedule of values and project logs.\nEnsure that project documents are archived and maintained following Company procedures.\nFollow up all accounts receivable including retainage.\nAssure public agency coordination and prepare permit applications.\nOversight of SWPPP\nReview and become familiar with all aspects of the Owner / Contractor’s Prime Contract and confirm the budget setup and milestones.\nEnsure that all Contractor requirements are met and the Owner/Contractor/ Design team relationship and responsibilities are conducted in accordance with the Agreement.\nResponsible for understanding and administering prime contract terms and conditions, contract documents, subcontract agreements, purchase order agreements, insurance, etc.\nAuthor or approve all outgoing RFI’s, assure distribution and initiate cost or time impact to all answered RFI’s.\nEnsure that as many levels of detailed schedules are prepared and distributed as required to support the project schedule.\nWork to insure that the building schedule is closely adhered to.
