School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Plainfield, New Jersey

This contract role is located near Plainfield, NJ, and provides a chance to make a difference in a child's daily experience at school.Key Qualifications:Active RN license with current New Jersey credentialsDocumented experience in school nursing and pediatric careFamiliarity with NG-tube management (specific to NG-tube, not G-tube)Ability to safely lift and transport a non-ambulatory, 24lb studentPrevious experience providing care for students with complex medical needs such as Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD)Comfort and skill working independently in a school environmentAbility to assist with student transportation including bus supervisionPrimary Responsibilities:Deliver one-on-one nursing care to a 3-year-old student throughout the school day (8am-3pm)Monitor and manage student's health and medical needs, particularly relating to INAD and NG-tube usageSupport safe mobility, lifting, and physical transfers as requiredAccompany student on the school bus, ensuring safe transport to and from schoolCommunicate proactively with school staff and families concerning the child's well-being and needsAccurately maintain health records and follow all procedures as directedThis is a 4-week, onsite position running from June 1 to June 26, with around 35 hours per week supporting a singular student in a school environment.If you are a compassionate nurse with pediatric expertise seeking a purposeful short-term assignment, we encourage you to submit your application.
