We are seeking a Software Engineer – Backend to join our Labs team. This is an individual contributor role for engineers with strong backend foundations in Python.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nDesign and build scalable backend systems to support AI/ML applications and services\r\nWork closely with AI/ML scientists and engineers to productionize models and pipelines\r\nDevelop and maintain APIs and microservices for AI-driven applications\r\nBuild robust data pipelines and backend infrastructure to handle large-scale data processing\r\nEnsure performance, reliability, and scalability of AI backend systems\r\nDeploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)\r\nCollaborate across teams to translate AI prototypes into production-ready systems\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nStrong experience in Python backend development (FastAPI/Django preferred)\r\nSolid understanding of building APIs and microservices architectures\r\nExperience working with databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis)\r\nExposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure\r\nFamiliarity with deploying and scaling distributed systems\r\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nExperience working with AI/ML systems or data-intensive applications\r\nUnderstanding of model deployment, inference pipelines, or MLOps concepts\r\nFamiliarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)\r\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\r\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, research-driven environment\r\nExperience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration\r\nWhy Join Optym\r\nWork on high-impact problems for global clients.\r\nCollaborate with world-class experts in optimization and AI.\r\nOpportunity to see your algorithms deployed at scale in real operations.\r\nInnovative culture, flexible environment, and strong growth potential.\r\nWe follow a hybrid model where we work from office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
