Senior Credit / Portfolio ManagerPosition OverviewA well-established, relationship-driven community bank is seeking a Senior Credit / Portfolio Management professional to join its commercial banking team in the Detroit market.This role sits at the intersection of credit, team leadership, and long-term succession planning. While aligned to a Portfolio Manager function, this is not a heavily client-facing or production-driven role. Instead, it is best suited for someone who enjoys hands-on credit work, mentoring junior talent, and growing into future leadership within a stable, community banking platform.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management across C&I and CRE relationshipsAnalyze financial statements, assess risk, and make sound credit recommendationsMentor, coach, and develop credit analysts and junior team membersSupport team leadership initiatives and contribute to long-term succession planningPartner with lenders and internal stakeholders to evaluate and structure deals within the bank's credit cultureQualifications5–10 years of commercial credit or underwriting experienceExperience in a generalist commercial banking environment with exposure to both C&I and CREStrong credit judgment and ability to think independentlyExperience mentoring or developing junior credit staffBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experiencePreferred AttributesCollaborative, team-oriented mindsetInterest in long-term growth within a community bank environmentAbility to operate in a credit-first, relationship-driven cultureThis is an opportunity to join a stable organization that prioritizes internal development, mentorship, and long-term career growth within a community banking model.Compensation$130,000 per yearJ-18808-Ljbffr
