This position is ideal for an experienced HVAC, mechanical, or skilled-trades professional who has spent several years working in the field and is ready to transition into a broader training and workforce-development role without completely leaving the field behind. The position will be approximately 50% classroom, training, administrative, and HR support and 50% field-based support and technician engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with technicians across LPI's locations to ensure employees are properly trained, certified, and equipped to perform their jobs safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.\nKey Responsibilities: Training & Workforce Development\nDevelop, coordinate, and deliver technical, safety, and professional training for field technicians.\nConduct both classroom and hands-on training sessions.\nIdentify individual and department-wide training needs.\nAssist technicians with obtaining required licenses, certifications, and credentials.\nMaintain an accurate database of employee certifications, licenses, expiration dates, and training requirements.\nMonitor certification expiration dates and proactively coordinate renewals.\nResearch new certifications, training programs, and continuing-education opportunities.\nAssist with developing onboarding and training programs for new technicians.\nHelp develop career-development and advancement opportunities for field employees.\nServe as a mentor and resource for technicians at varying levels of experience.\nField Support\nSpend approximately 50% of the position working directly with technicians in the field.\nTravel between LPI locations and various commercial job sites.\nWork alongside technicians to identify skill gaps and opportunities for development.\nProvide coaching, mentoring, and technical support when appropriate.\nObserve field performance and communicate development opportunities to management.\nHelp ensure technicians are following company safety, quality, and operational procedures.\nBuild strong relationships with field personnel and serve as a trusted resource for technicians and supervisors.\nHR & Administrative Support\nPartner with HR and operations leadership regarding employee development and training.\nAssist with new-hire onboarding and orientation.\nMaintain accurate employee training and certification records.\nCoordinate required training, testing, and certification programs.\nAssist HR with tracking employee qualifications and compliance requirements.\nProvide management with regular updates regarding technician training and certification status.\nHelp identify recurring workforce-development issues and recommend solutions.\nAssist with creating and maintaining standardized training documentation and procedures.\nQualifications\nMinimum 5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical, or a related skilled trade.\nStrong understanding of commercial HVAC/mechanical systems preferred.\nPrevious experience training, mentoring, supervising, or developing technicians strongly preferred.\nStrong organizational and administrative skills.\nComfortable working with both field employees and office/HR personnel.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nComfortable presenting information in classroom, group, and one-on-one settings.\nStrong computer skills and ability to maintain databases and training records.\nAbility to travel regularly between LPI locations and field job sites.\nValid driver's license and reliable transportation.\nThe ideal candidate may be someone who loves the skilled trades but is ready to transition away from working in the field full-time and wants to use their knowledge and experience to develop the next generation of technicians.
