This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the COO. You will oversee a high-performing team covering direct/indirect tax, R&D credits, and tax consulting for venture-backed startups (Seed to Series C). If you are a technical expert who thrives on business development, strategy and partnering with world-changing founders, you’ll find your home here.Key ResponsibilitiesPractice Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing tax consulting team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and entrepreneurship.Strategic Growth: Identify opportunities to expand advisory offerings, including defining the tax services of the future through AI and emerging tech.Business Development: Drive revenue and wallet share by identifying cross-sell opportunities and leading proposal activities for new and existing clients.Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the primary advisor on complex technical matters, including corporate taxes, M&A, and R&D credits.Client Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to founders and executive teams, ensuring high client satisfaction and strategic delivery excellence.Qualifications/RequirementsExperience: Minimum 15 years in tax, ideally from a regional firm with a deep focus on venture-funded startup environments.Credentials: Active CPA is a must.
