Diesel Fleet Mechanic

Our Diesel Mechanics perform repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance by DOT standards on both our tractors and cryogenic trailers. Other duties will include maintaining shop parts, ordering and inventory control, tire repairs/changes, lighting electrical, and welding. Position Summary: Perform maintenance and repair on fleet vehicles and equipment Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems Complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed Replace tires as needed & maintain accurate paperwork. Requirements: 2 years’ diesel mechanic experience/highway equipment maintenance or relevant training from a Technical School. DOT air brake certification and annual federal vehicle inspection certification Basic computer skills along with written and oral communication skills. Hydraulic system background a plus. Preferred diagnostic background to include Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Eaton Transmission and International Engines Provide own hand tools and chest with tools up to 1-1/4” Matheson is an Equal Opportunity Employer that complies with the laws and regulations set forth under EEOC.
