This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system for hydrogen generation, compression, storage, and dispensing equipment/facilities at various Plug Power customer locations. Hydrogen infrastructure performance is largely dependent upon establishing and supporting the proper software programming. The Sr. Controls Engineer creates the base programs to be used in new production as well as helps remotely manage the active fleet of equipment while optimizing system performance and limiting equipment failures/downtime. By partnering with the engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams the Sr. Controls Engineer will develop a thorough understanding of the performance requirements of the hydrogen systems and continually refine controls to enhance system reliability. This role is vital to support Plug Power technology in the field while also furthering the Company’s reputation as the industry leader in hydrogen applications.\n\nCore Duties and Responsibilities\nDevelop and deploy software solutions for hydrogen generation, compressions, storage, & dispensing systems focused around process control and optimal system performance\nCreate and manage programs for Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)\nCreate and manage methods for data acquisition and interpretation of system information\nProvide leadership when deploying software solutions for H2 infrastructure to ensure appropriate communication and achievement of deliverables\nPerform system tests to ensure that software and automation solutions are effective and reliable both pre and post deployment\nCreate and provide training to users on system interfacing and troubleshooting\nContinually engage with H2 generation & infrastructure stakeholders to understand H2 system performance needs\nRefine system automation and software solutions based upon field data and stakeholder input\nManage the engineering change process around software releases\nDevelop, read, and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Electrical Schematics as needed\nRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions\nPerform all other duties as assigned\nEducation and Experience\n\nBS degree in Engineering, Information Systems or other relevant field of study\nFive (5) or more years of relevant work history; experience developing HMI & PLC solutions for field applications preferred\nPrior experience with gas processing and/or refueling systems preferred\nExperience with\nPLC Programming – Ladder Logic, Functional Block Diagram, Sequential Flow Charts\nHMI Programming\nSchneider automation suite (Citect, Vijeo, Unity, Modicon, etc)\nAllen Bradley (RS Logix, Factory Talk, etc)\nModbus Protocol\nData management\nSQL\nMicrosoft Office suite\nAbility to travel as needed to carry out duties of the position – up to 20%\nDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail\nSuperior communication skills\nAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively\nExcellent follow-through\nMust be driven and self-motivated\nMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality\nPay Rate:\n$92,300.00 - $138,400.00\nWe offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:\n✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
