This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, system design, and CAD tools, with experience in FPGA, SoC, and firmware development. The ECAD Design Engineer will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of complex projects within schedule and quality standards.\nDuties\nDesign and develop detailed schematics and PCB layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks for electronic systems.\nCreate and validate FPGA and SystemVerilog designs for programmable logic devices.\nPerform root cause analysis on electrical systems issues and troubleshoot hardware failures.\nDevelop system models using MATLAB, Simulink, or Python to simulate signal processing and system behavior.\nCollaborate with mechanical engineers using Revit or MicroStation to integrate mechanical and electrical components.\nSupport manufacturing processes by designing surface mount technology (SMT) layouts and ensuring compliance with NEC standards.\nConduct soldering, surface mount assembly, and testing of prototypes using tools such as ohmmeters and vision inspection systems.\nWrite firmware in C++, Python, Perl, or scripting languages to support embedded systems development on ARM or Arduino platforms.\nAssist in project scheduling, documentation, and technical reviews to ensure timely project delivery.\nParticipate in debugging hardware and firmware issues through systematic root cause analysis.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus.\nProven experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks.\nStrong knowledge of FPGA development, SystemVerilog, ARM architecture, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).\nProficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for system modeling; experience with Signal Processing is desirable.\nHands-on experience with soldering (surface mount technology), firmware development, debugging tools (ohmmeters), and vision inspection systems.\nFamiliarity with electrical systems standards such as NEC; knowledge of manufacturing processes including surface mount technology (SMT).\nMechanical knowledge related to system design integration using Revit or MicroStation is advantageous.\nSkills in scripting languages such as Python or Perl for automation tasks; experience with C++ is preferred.\nAbility to perform root cause analysis on complex electrical or firmware issues; excellent problem-solving skills required.\nStrong communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration; ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
