We are looking for experienced Aircraft Painter II who are seeking their next opportunity in a complex and ever-changing work environment!As an Aircraft Painter II you will be performing Intermediate Paint Applications for Overall Exterior Aircraft Surfaces and Removable Parts with Minimum Supervision and Minimum Discrepancies.Essential Functions:Obtains/Reads/Interprets/Comprehends Process Documentation at Latest Revision to Perform Task AssignmentsSeeks Guidance As NeededLocate, Reference, and Utilize Work Orders and Reference Data Using Computer System to Ensure Compliance with Processes, and Accurately Document/Record All Traceability Requirements and Process DataMaintains All Equipment Before, During, and After Use, as Required, and Performs Preventative Maintenance on Equipment as Defined per Process while maintaining a neat, orderly, and safe work environment and cleaning up after each operation / shift.Inspects Aircraft Non-Sensitive Components before and after masking/unmasking process for interdepartmental transfers as well as Masks/Unmasks Aircraft Non-Sensitive Components and Prepares Aluminum and Composite Substrates for Sealant, Primer, and Paint ApplicationConsistently Inspects, Masks, Sands, and Unmasks Aircraft Sensitive Zones with Low to No DiscrepanciesApplies Pore-Filler to Aircraft and Applies Primer/Surfacer to all aircraft zones/parts as needed with Low to No Supervision and Low to No DiscrepanciesNotifies QC Personnel Prior to Any Applicable Prep/Paint Activity to be Performed and Identifies and Corrects Discrepancies in Inspection, Sealant, Masking/Unmasking, top coating and Sanding at All Stages of Preparation/Painting Minimizes rework through proficiency in preparation and application by mixing Sealant, Conversion Coatings, Primers, Surfacers, topcoats, etc. per Processes with No Discrepancies and will Identify Defects in Topcoats; Masks, Sands, and Paints to Correct Defects in TopcoatsRepeatedly Paints Aircraft Tail, belly/parts to DFJ Quality Standards with Minimum Supervision and Minimum DiscrepanciesProperly Sets Up Work Area for Aircraft Compliant with All Safety Requirements and assists in aircraft movement.Prepares Stripe Design Areas for Application with Minimum Discrepancies while learning to Layout for Stripe Designs and to Paint Aircraft Fuselage and Stripe DesignsChecks Thickness and Masks for Regulatory and Specialty Coatings with Low to No Supervision and Low to No DiscrepanciesCorrectly Trains Personnel of Lower Levels of Proper Procedures, Methods, and Techniques per DFJ Processes Requirements4 Years Paint ExperienceAdvanced Knowledge and Demonstrated Proficiency of DFJ Surface Preparation ProcessesIntermediate Knowledge of Aircraft Paint Systems and Demonstrated Proficiency of Topcoat ApplicationHigh School Diploma or EquivalentAbility and Competency To:Read, Speak, Write, Understand, and Communicate Effectively in English Follow Written and Verbal InstructionsPerform Repetitive Movements and Work OverheadWork on Upper Aircraft at Heights Greater Than 10 FeetUse Mechanical Sanders, Buffers, Spray Equipment, Common Hand Tools, etc.Pass Pulmonary Function Test; Obtain and Maintain Respirator ClearanceObtain and Maintain Aluminum Pretreatment CertificationAbility and Commitment to:Wear All PPE as Required Prioritize Safety of Self, Others, and AircraftAdvanced Knowledge of How to Use Mechanical Sanders, Buffers, Spray Equipment, Common Hand Tools, etc.Advanced Attention to DetailAbility to work with and around various adhesives, paints, resins, and other preparatory paint materials.
