They assist with projects, events, and college programs to support operational and institutional goals.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacility Maintenance: Maintain facilities across all Coastal Bend College locations, ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and presentability.Safe Equipment Use: Wear proper safety equipment and adhere to always established safety protocols and while operating powered equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, floor maintenance tools, and general hand tools, as required.Safety Awareness: Respond effectively to emergency situations, always adhere to safe work procedures, and proactively identify, secure, and report unsafe conditions immediately.Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, clean, and service tools and equipment to ensure proper operation and longevity.Work Area Organization:Perform regular workspace clean-up to ensure a safe, organized, and clean work environment.Operation of Machinery and Tools: Safely operate and maintain equipment, including drills, painting tools, vacuums, buffers, floor maintenance tools, and other facility maintenance equipment, while adhering to all operational guidelines and safety standards.Cleanliness and Sanitation:Ensure assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, are clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary supplies.Trash Management:Collect, dispose of, and manage trash and recyclables, ensuring bins are clean and properly maintained.Event and Facility Support: Provide support for college events, including setup, teardown, and the transfer of college property, as well as assisting with custodial, maintenance, and physical plant operations.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsMust be a currently enrolled Coastal Bend College StudentTeam Commitment: Demonstrate the willingness and desire to be an integral part of our team, contributing positively to a collaborative work environment.Independence and Adaptability: Ability to work unsupervised on a variety of job tasks ranging from simple to complex, ensuring high standards of performance.Emergency Response and Safety Awareness: Analyze and respond effectively to emergency situations, and proactively recognize, secure, and report unsafe conditions immediately.Teamwork and Communication: Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and follow both written and verbal instructions.Comprehension and Safety Training: Ability to read and write to comprehend and successfully complete safety training procedures.Work Ethic and Flexibility:Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to take on tasks as assigned.Preferred Qualifications:High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.Supplemental InformationAdditional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as assigned, including participating in special projects and providing additional support as needed.Other Duties:Will participate in college responsibilities such as Institutional Effectiveness Committee, Task Force, etc.Travel Requirements:No travel required.Environment:Most work takes place throughout all college campus facilities, which exposes employees to inside and outside elements such as dirt, fumes, noise, chemicals and all types of weather conditions on a daily basis.Our college provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetic information.This position is not eligible for benefits.01 Are you a current CBC student?
