This role will focus on control system optimization, HMI development, and execution of control strategies that drive efficiency, reliability, and overall plant performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and refine automation strategies to improve process stability, product quality, and operational efficiencyCreate and maintain technical documentation such as control narratives, loop documentation, and system backupsTroubleshoot and resolve control system issues in collaboration with maintenance and operations teamsWork cross-functionally to support capital projects, system upgrades, and new equipment integrationContribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize automation and workflowsLeadership ScopeProvide technical input and support for projects; level of leadership responsibility will align with experienceQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline5+ years of experience in automation, controls, or process engineering within a manufacturing environmentExperience with distributed or plant-wide control systems (DCS) and PLC-based automation platformsFamiliarity with multiple automation platforms and vendors is preferredBackground supporting projects from concept through commissioning is highly desirableUnderstanding of industrial communication protocols and system integration conceptsExposure to data systems, historians, or manufacturing IT/OT environments is a plusStrong foundation in instrumentation and control principlesAbility to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teamsDemonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive, continuous improvement mindsetAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentWork Environment & Physical RequirementsManufacturing environment with exposure to industrial equipment and varying conditionsRegular movement throughout the facility; occasional lifting may be requiredExposure to typical plant conditions, including noise and moving equipmentAdditional InformationThis description is intended to provide a general overview of the role.
