Quality Inspector I (SSD)

Job Summary: Performs inspection of first article, in-process, and final assemblies as well as incoming materials. Assists other areas as needed. Job Duties: Job duties include the following: Inspect incoming parts, components, and assemblies per production drawings, Purchase Orders, and inspection instructions. Inspect first article, in-process, and final assemblies per production drawings. Report inspection results as required by the Quality Management System (QMS) and inspection instructions. Communicate effectively with all SSD departments to ensure acceptable parts and assemblies. Other duties as assigned. Skills/Experience: One (1) year of experience in manufacturing is preferred. Experience in electronics manufacturing preferred. Must be detail-oriented and well-organized with good written and verbal communication skills. Able to follow standard operating procedures. Familiar with approved inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and tool-maker’s microscope. Must be familiar with IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies). Must have ERP experience. Education: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Physical demands: Able to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods. Able to perform repetitive work and have the ability to use a microscope and be able to hold small hand tools.
