Our Port Washington store is currently seeking a PT Bookkeeper to support our front office operations. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of daily cash handling processes. Position Responsibilities:
Perform daily safe counts and verify cash totals from store salesCoordinate with armored carriers to receive, organize, and distribute fundsCollect, review, and input payroll-related information into our internal systemExecute all opening and closing bookkeeping proceduresEnsure timely preparation and submission of daily cash packages to the main officeAccurately count and reconcile cash, coin, and credit card receipts against system reportsPrepare and complete bank deposit slipsIdentify, research, and resolve discrepancies or variancesMaintain and reconcile petty cash, store cash funds, and fleet card gas receiptsSupport front-end operations by performing customer service clerk duties, including assisting customers, handling transactions, and providing general store support once daily bookkeeping tasks are completed
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 1 year of experience in cash handling and safe/deposit proceduresStrong numerical aptitude with the ability to perform calculations accuratelyDetail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and time management skillsPositive attitude and ability to work independentlyProficient in using calculators and point-of-sale systems
