In this role, you will support utility coordination efforts on roadway projects by working closely with multidisciplinary teams, reviewing construction plans, and helping ensure utility conflicts are identified and resolved efficiently. The Utility Coordinator should be proficient in reading and interpreting FDOT plans, with hands‑on experience in plan production. This role requires a strong understanding of the FDOT plan review process, along with the ability to identify and resolve conflicts between roadway design and existing utilities. This position supports career growth and leadership within a firm committed to elevating both communities and its people.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nGain proficiency with knowledge and understanding of roadway construction plan component sets\n\nReview utility work schedules, utility conflict matrix and utility agreements\n\nManages communication and collaboration with multi-discipline and design teams\n\nDevelop and maintain project tracking systems for issues and resolutions, and address utility or roadway needs in a timely manner\n\nReview FDOT utility permit applications and plans\n\nParticipate in utility and roadway meetings to promote issue resolution, prepare status reports, and perform follow up meeting actions as required\n\nRequires technical supervision of tasks by senior staff\n\nComplete tasks and projects within expectations of Project Manager, Supervisor or Task Lead\n\nWhat You’ll Need\n\n0-4 years of experience performing utility coordination in accordance with FDOT standards, policies, and procedures.\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\n\nA strong background and experience in Design Builds is preferred\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n\nAbility to effectively prioritize and organize tasks\n\nKnowledge about CADD Systems is preferred\n\nKnowledge of the FDOT plans production process and utility coordination practices\n\nKnowledge of FDOT agreements, standards, policies, and procedures\n\nStrong communication skills and ability to handle one‑on‑one meetings with utility owners\n\nGood technical writing skills\n\nAbility to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high standards in all work efforts\n\nPosition may require overnight travel for remote projects or conferences\n\nSkill in working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other Office Products\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit for prolonged periods, use hands/fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms, speak and hear.\n\nMost work is performed in an office setting, although at times it is required to make site visits or attend on site meetings.\n\nThe employee is frequently required to stand and walk.\n\nThe employee must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside‑weather conditions.\n\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.\n\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\nIf you meet some of the listed criteria but not all, we still encourage you to apply.
