Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a Linux Engineer in Warrenton / Tysons, Virginia.\nResponsibilities:\nThe Infrastructure Linux Team Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, support and maintenance of all aspects of the project’s Linux infrastructure. Project infrastructure includes virtual and physical servers and software resources.\nBuild, secure, maintain baseline physical, vm, cloud instances\nMonitor HW env to ensure rapid fixes and minimal downtime\nWork with multiple development teams for security and configuration updates\nAssist with planning and implementation of new infrastructure tools/services\nQualifications:\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nInstall, configure, secure and maintain all physical and virtual onsite and cloud servers/vms/instances using kickstart, puppet, ansible, infrastructure-as-code\nMonitor health and capacity of and troubleshoot Linux system resources using Nagios and iLO or iDRAC and VMware host console\nAssist multiple development teams with recurring operations and maintenance activities (host creation, system performance issues, H/W issues, general Linux administration support, Centrify/AD support, etc.)\nCoordinating and escorting vendors into the Data Center to replace failed hardware components on Linux systems\nProject based development and implementation of new Linux hardware and software capabilities (Security enhancements, Central Logging, Resource Monitoring and Notification, Dev/Ops Automation, etc.)\nParticipating in and conducting applicable accreditation support (scans, automation, auditing, etc.) of Linux systems\nProviding general Linux system administration guidance and support to multiple development teams (disk management, account creation, design reviews, etc.)\nCreate, manage, and update Linux servers in the cloud environment\nThe successful candidate must be able to work well both in a team setting and individually on project-based tasks and have direct experience in the following:\n\nSystem Administration\nPrior experience as a Unix/Linux Systems Administrator of Linux, preferably RHEL/CentOS (installation, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting)\nPrior experience developing Puppet modules for server builds (Kickstart), and maintenance automation\nPrior experience integrating automation with TFTP, DHCP and DNS.\nPrior experience with Centrify and Active Directory integration and management of Linux groups, accounts and servers\nPrior experience with one or more scripting tools: Puppet, Shell, Perl/CGI, Python\nPrior experience working with Linux in a cloud environment\nVMWare/VSphere\nManaging and monitoring Linux server resources in a VMWare/VSphere environment\nBuilding and maintaining all Linux Virtual Machines\nServer/Resource Automation\nExperience with automation tools, such as Puppet and Ansible, CGI/Perl and Python\n\nHardware Experience\nDirect experience with, including hardware maintenance, firmware updates to HP DL Series Servers, Dell PowerEdge R630/730 Servers and iLOM/iDRAC usage\nDesired Qualifications:\nPrior experience with SQL querying of a relational database, such as MySQL\nPrior experience with Nutanix and HPCC technologies\nPrior experience with Python and Ansible automation of system administration and configuration tasks\nPrior experience setting up Docker clusters using Swarm and or Kubernetes\nPrior experience with HP Apollo 4000 and 2000 systems architectures\nPrior experience with git for Infrastructure code management\nWhat you can expect from us:\nBCore is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
