This role requires expertise in soldering, component identification, and rework techniques including both surface-mount and through-hole technologies.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPerform rework and repair of PCBAs using hand soldering, hot air rework stations, and other specialized tools.\nRemove and replace SMT and through-hole components without damaging the board or surrounding components.\nInterpret rework instructions, engineering change orders (ECOs), and assembly documentation such as schematics, assembly drawings, and work orders.\nInspect completed work using magnification and/or X-ray equipment to ensure quality standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721) are met.\nTroubleshoot and identify defects or component issues in PCBAs, including open circuits, shorts, solder bridges, and misaligned parts.\nDocument rework performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and rework activities.\nCommunicate effectively with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams regarding rework requirements or process improvements.\nFollow all ESD, safety, and cleanliness protocols in the handling and assembly of electronic components.\n\nQualifications:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electronics preferred.\n2+ years of experience in PCBA rework or repair.\nProficiency in hand soldering of fine-pitch SMT and through-hole components.\nIPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721 certification strongly preferred.\nStrong attention to detail and manual dexterity.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.\n\nWork Environment:\n\nWork is performed in a cleanroom or ESD-controlled manufacturing area.\nRequires sitting or standing for extended periods and handling small electronic parts.\n\nJob Type: Full-time\n\nBenefits:\n\n401(k)\n401(k) matching\nDental insurance\nHealth insurance\nLife insurance\nPaid time off\nRelocation assistance\nVision insurance\n\nWork Location: In person\n\nITAR/EAR Compliance: Due to the nature of the work performed at Rocket EMS, this position may require access to export-controlled technical data or technology.
