The ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering and experience in a heavy industrial setting.\n\nDescription pertains to two job functions this person can fulfill -- not expected to meet all these requirements:\n\n*Responsibility – E&I Design*\n\n* Perform sketches or mark-up existing drawings as required to communicate design intent.\n* Perform field work\n* inspecting plant conditions\n* verifying existing plant conditions\n* Routing tray, conduit, or cable\n* layout new equipment for most efficient use of space and resources\n* Preliminary design for installation of transformers, MCCs, motors, instruments, and controls\n* Specify and obtain quotes for electrical hardware\n* Specify and obtain quotes for instrumentation/controls hardware\n* Write controls narratives\n* Design grounding.\n* Develop cable schedules\n* Coordinate with other disciplines as required to produce projects with the lowest total installed cost possible\n* Check design work for accuracy and ensure compliance with project requirements\n* Be primary company resource for design/troubleshooting of power systems\n* Design loop sheets, elementaries, system architecture, and other wiring diagrams\n* Support mill checkout of electrical systems\n\n*Expectations*\n\n* Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients\n* Lead scope development efforts by interfacing with clients as needed.\n* Communicate scope needs to designers or other engineers\n* Obtain quotes for engineering, equipment, material, and services\n* Develop bid packages, lead bid meetings, and evaluate bids\n* Coordinate project safety, timing, and other issues\n* Lead checkout and startup activities\n* Control documents generated during the project. Issue documents to client for permanent storage\n\n*Must have:*\n\n* Electrical Engineer (no PE required)\n* 5-8 years of experience (heavy industrial preferred)\n\nIntangible: \"not a job you can hide, team player, eager to learn, take ownership, relate to people, strong communication skills.\"\n\n*Things to know*\n\n* Established, small business (started in 2016, 30 employees).\n* We hire people strategically for the long-term, not based on busy seasons or projects.
