Behind every finished piece that leaves our design centers is a production team that keeps the shop floor running, and we're looking for a Controls Engineer who takes the same pride in keeping our machinery running that our craftsmen take in their woodwork.\n\nThe Role\n\nWe're hiring a Controls Engineer to maintain the automation and control systems across our production facility and to find real, lasting solutions when equipment issues threaten the line. This isn't a role that only reacts to breakdowns — we want someone who digs into recurring problems, improves how our machinery performs, and helps our production team run at its best day after day.\n\nWhat You'll Do\n\nMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-controlled production machinery and control systems across the facility.\n\nDiagnose root causes of recurring downtime and equipment issues — not just patch symptoms.\n\nDesign and implement production solutions: process improvements, control logic changes, and equipment modifications that increase uptime and throughput.\n\nRead and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel documentation.\n\nProgram, modify, and optimize PLC logic (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred) and associated HMI/SCADA interfaces.\n\nPartner with production and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs and improvement projects.\n\nSupport installation and commissioning of new equipment as the facility grows.\n\nMaintain accurate records of control system changes, preventive maintenance, and project documentation.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\n3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial control systems in a production or manufacturing environment.\n\nWorking knowledge of PLC programming and ladder logic (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred; Siemens a plus).\n\nAbility to read electrical schematics and diagnose issues down to the component level.\n\nExperience with HMI and/or SCADA systems.\n\nStrong root-cause problem-solving skills — comfortable owning an issue until it's actually fixed.\n\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, or equivalent hands-on experience.\n\nComfortable working on the shop floor alongside production and maintenance teams.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\n\nBase salary: $90,000–$140,000, commensurate with experience.\n\nMedical, dental, and vision coverage\n\n401(k) with company match\n\nPaid time off and holidays\n\nEmployee discount on Kent Moore Cabinets products\n\nHow to Apply\n\nPlease upload your resume and a brief cover letter at our Paycom Careers website with the subject line “Controls Engineer — [Your Name].”\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nII.
