Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This pivotal role requires a passionate leader committed to delivering exceptional resident care, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing management experience, a deep understanding of various care settings including, nursing homes, home health, and hospice care, and a strong dedication to enhancing resident outcomes through innovative care strategies. Duties Provide strategic leadership and direction for all nursing departments, ensuring high-quality resident care across assisted living, nursing home, home health, and hospice services. Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations such as Medicare and HIPAA. Oversee the management of medical records, documentation review, and ensure accurate maintenance of electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Supervise nurse management staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and shift management to maintain optimal staffing levels. Ensure adherence to safety protocols by maintaining physiology and anatomy knowledge relevant to resident care and supervising documentation review processes. Lead efforts in quality assurance initiatives related to MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, care plan development, and compliance audits. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote resident-centered care that emphasizes dignity, safety, and well-being. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations including Medicare requirements and ensure facility compliance with all applicable laws such as HIPAA. Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional growth through supervising experience and leadership development initiatives. Skills Extensive experience in skilled nursing home environments. Proven expertise in nursing administration with strong nurse management skills and supervising experience. Deep understanding of acute care practices along with proficiency in managing complex medical conditions related to residents’ physiology and anatomy. Familiarity with EMR systems (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR systems (Electronic Health Records), including documentation review processes. Point Click Care Experience Knowledge of medical terminology essential for accurate communication within multidisciplinary teams. Strong leadership abilities with a focus on shift management, team supervision, and fostering a collaborative work culture. Ability to interpret regulatory guidelines related to Medicare billing practices and ensure compliance with all healthcare standards. Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple priorities such as care plans, medical records review, and documentation accuracy.
