This role supports the firm’s enterprise investment data warehouse, which serves Research, Portfolio Management, Trading, Analytics, and Reporting functions.The Senior Python Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data applications and services. The position involves optimizing data pipelines, building reliable data-transfer solutions, and applying modern engineering practices to improve data quality, performance, security, and availability. The successful candidate will work with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver effective data solutions while supporting production systems.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and deliver investment data technology solutions for Research, Portfolio Management, Trading, Analytics, and ReportingDesign, develop, test, and deliver data technology solutions while balancing development speed and qualityCollaborate with business analysts, product owners, and project managers to define user stories, estimates, and work plansWork independently while advising business clients and IT management on technology capabilities and recommending strategies for adopting new technologiesDesign and implement data pipeline improvements across ingestion, validation, quality control, integration, storage, management, and deliveryWrite unit and integration tests, contribute to engineering documentation, and maintain detailed technical recordsDevelop high-performance, scalable data-transfer tools that reliably move datasets between endpoints within established service-level agreementsMaintain data consistency, refresh rates, and caching requirements across interfaces to keep data currentBuild and enhance CI/CD pipelines and develop maintainable, supportable solutionsParticipate in code reviews and technical design reviewsProvide technical troubleshooting and production support for existing systemsApply engineering and security best practices when designing and implementing data applicationsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience4–5 years of programming experience with Python or equivalentProficiency in building RESTful APIs and web services4–5 years of SQL experienceDemonstrated ability to apply SOLID principles and Domain-Driven DesignExperience developing high-performance, highly available data applications, including performance optimization and tuningExperience with automated acceptance testing and writing maintainable, unit-tested codeStrong understanding of cybersecurity risks and the ability to design and build secure applicationsExperience working collaboratively in a dynamic team environment to deliver software solutionsKnowledge of best practices and IT operations for highly available servicesExperience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies in software development and integrationPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related fieldProficiency in implementing and optimizing NoSQL databasesAbility to work across multiple programming languages and platformsKnowledge of or experience in the financial services industryExperience with Kafka, Airflow, PostgreSQL, Ansible, Elastic Stack, RabbitMQ, Redis, Docker, Okta, OAuth2, or PlainIDLocation and Work ArrangementWork Arrangement: RemoteBenefitsDimensional offers comprehensive benefits, educational initiatives, and programs designed to support employees, their families, and career development.
