We invite you to be part of our community, where you can grow your career and serve with your heart.In our time of Company growth, we are seeking a Cardiology and Gastroenterology Operating Room Nurse (RN).Work Location: Bradenton, FL.As Part Of This Role, You WillPerform a comprehensive assessment of the patient's clinical condition and psycho-social needs, including caregiver needs, during the perioperative periodObserve behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications; take appropriate action and documentDemonstrate knowledge of drugs, actions, and side effects of medications administeredProtect the patient's right to privacyProvide the patient with explanations and verbal reassurances as appropriateCommunicate clearly and concisely, assessment and reassessment of the patient in charting and with notification of surgeon and/or anesthesiologist as necessary; collaborates with all other health-care personnel and physicians in the delivery of coordinated patient careProvide the patient with explanations and verbal reassurances as appropriateAssess patient's physical and emotional response(s) to treatment(s); observes behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications, takes appropriate action, and documents interventions and response to interventionsRequirementsWhat you need to bring to this role: RN in good standing with the Florida Board of Nursing is requiredMinimum of 1 year of professional nursing experience preferredCardiology and Gastroenterology OR experience Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute is requiredCardio Department ONLY: ACLS Certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety Institute is requiredMicrosoft Office Products – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint proficiency preferredCertification as an Operating Room Nurse (CNOR) preferred3-5 years of experience as a nurse providing perioperative care preferredPrevious experience in Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, or Invasive Vascular experience preferredExceptional knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment, as well as sterile techniques preferredProficiency in recordkeeping and patient management systems, such as eHospital and PatientTrak, preferredSummaryThe RN in Surgery assumes responsibility for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care to patients in the perioperative environment, including interventions that assist the patient in a conscious or unconscious state. The Operating Room Nurse assists the surgeons they work with by managing much of the hands-on patient care before and after a surgical procedure. During an operation, they are present in the sterile environment as part of the surgical team. They may administer medications and monitor patients in the recovery room immediately after surgery. They could also serve as the point of contact between patients and their families and the surgeon and other doctors managing their care. In this capacity, an OR nurse is likely to educate patients and explain complex procedures to people in plain language. They also commonly bring the questions and concerns of patients and families to the care team to ensure responsive care.MCR Health is a drug-free workplace.
