The position supports the physical and logical integration of fiber-optic and IP-based circuits and coordinates technical activities associated with transitioning legacy copper and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) systems to modern fiber and IP network infrastructure across the National Airspace System (NAS).\n\nThis position will be filled in each of the following locations: Peachtree City, GA; Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA; and Kansas City, MO.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nLead Technical Integration: Lead the integration, implementation, and testing of systems supporting the National Airspace System (NAS). Provide technical direction to field teams and take ownership of assigned technical and project activities.\nLead Legacy-to-IP Migrations: Manage technical activities throughout the network infrastructure lifecycle, from planning and site preparation through implementation and final deployment. Direct the migration of legacy TDM circuits to IP-based infrastructure, including circuit activation, cutover coordination, troubleshooting, and performance testing.\nProvide Hands-On Infrastructure Support: Perform hands-on configuration, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, protocols, servers, and related hardware. Resolve complex technical issues encountered during deployments across multiple sites and geographic areas.\nMonitor and Analyze System Performance: Use operational dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), test results, and technical reports to evaluate network performance. Verify that fiber and IP infrastructure meets established reliability, availability, resilience, and performance requirements for mission-critical aviation services.\nIdentify and Resolve Technical Risks: Analyze operational and technical data to identify trends, emerging issues, dependencies, and potential performance risks. Develop and recommend corrective actions to maintain successful implementation and operational performance.\nCommunicate Technical Status and Results: Develop and deliver clear, actionable status reports, dashboards, technical documentation, and briefings for project stakeholders and senior leadership. Communicate accomplishments, risks, technical issues, and recommended next steps to support timely decision-making.\n\nSkills Required:\n\nCollege degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline (or equivalent military or field experience).\nMinimum 7 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning.\nDeep technical command of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6, specifically telecommunications infrastructure for TDM-to-IP conversion.\nHands-on experience with optical networking (fiber), telecom network infrastructure hardware, server-level deployments, testing, validation and acceptance.\nProven ability to model network growth and optimize capacity during large-scale system upgrades.\nTelecommunications infrastructure experience with ground networks, air to ground systems and technologies.\nU.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\n\nSkills Preferred:\n\nExperience leading the technical integration side of large infrastructure initiatives; ability to apply project management methodologies to ensure delivery, compliance, and mission alignment.\nWorking knowledge of cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support hybrid NAS environments.\nCisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.\nFamiliarity with FAA BNATCS protocols or similar mission-critical government network standards.\n\nWork Environment & Travel\n\nWork is primarily performed on-site at FAA facilities across the NAS, with additional work at contractor or integrator facilities as required.\nPosition requires regional travel to FAA sites in support of surveys and installation.\n\nAdditionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required.
