This role is ideal for someone who thrives across the full application stack, cares deeply about clean code and data integrity, and wants to build a strong technical foundation rather than dig out of a mess.\r\nA Day in the Life\r\nDeliverables\r\nShip features end to end, from migrations and Eloquent models through to the interface a real person clicks on.\r\nBuild and maintain full application slices rather than handoff-shaped pieces of work.\r\nDesign clean relational schemas in MySQL or PostgreSQL, with an emphasis on performance, readability, and data integrity.\r\nWrite queries that are fast, maintainable, and grounded in a strong understanding of indexing and schema design.\r\nBuild thoughtful, well-documented RESTful APIs that support the front end and connect to the data sources users rely on.AI Integration\r\nUse Laravel, modern PHP, and thoughtful framework conventions to keep the platform clean, readable, and scalable as AI-enabled capabilities are evaluated and integrated.\r\nSupport responsible AI integration by helping connect data sources, workflows, and user-facing features in ways that are accurate, maintainable, and useful.Internal Responsibility\r\nWrite tested, readable code that favors simplicity and maintainability, leaning on KISS and YAGNI principles.\r\nRefactor when it earns its keep and leave the codebase a little better than you found it.\r\nParticipate in thoughtful code review, give useful feedback, and take feedback without ego.\r\nCollaborate hand in hand with our external Laravel partner to maintain the quality of an already strong platform.Client Responsibility\r\nWork closely with product and design partners to turn fuzzy ideas into features that actually ship.\r\nHelp Vaniam Intelligence continue to grow as a trusted platform for oncology and hematology teams.\r\nWhat You Must Have\r\nEducation and Experience\r\nRoughly 5+ years of experience building and maintaining real web applications, with meaningful depth in Laravel and modern PHP\r\nStrong hands-on experience with Laravel, including Eloquent, migrations, queues, events, and testing tools\r\nExperience shipping full stack features from database and backend logic through to user-facing interfaces\r\nComfort working with relational databases such as MySQL and/or PostgreSQL\r\nSkills and Competencies\r\nStrong understanding of schema design, indexing, and troubleshooting slow queries without relying first on a magic package\r\nAbility to build and maintain RESTful APIs that are clear, reliable, and well documented\r\nComfortable front-end skills across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern setups such as Blade, Livewire, Vue, or React\r\nA habit of writing tests without being asked, because they support speed, confidence, and quality\r\nCurious, candid, collaborative approach, including asking useful questions and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical partners\r\nWhat You Might Have, but Isn't Required\r\nExperience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or similar environments, as well as CI/CD workflows\r\nComfort with Docker and a modern local-to-production development workflow\r\nExperience building data-heavy products, including reporting, dashboards, or pipelines\r\nExperience in healthcare, life sciences, or another domain where data accuracy is essential\r\nOpen-source contributions, writing, speaking, or other public engagement with the Laravel or broader development community\r\nThe Team You'll Work Closest With\r\nYou will collaborate closely with product and design partners, engineering colleagues, and our external Laravel partner to continue building and improving Vaniam Intelligence.
